100 Things

Because, why not. I'm not actually an egomaniac, I just like typing out lists and telling stories. :3

001. I am on the autism spectrum. I was diagnosed a bit late, at the age of seventeen. No one was particularly surprised. It's not something I'm necessarily "proud" of but I'm not ashamed either. It's just another way to be.

002. I collect original art/paintings I find in thrift shops.

003. I didn't move out on my own until I was in my 30s.

004. I get annoyed when people assume I agree with all their views because I dress in black and have purple (or whatever) hair. People are not that simple. I am a mixed bag of opinions. Most people are, I think.

005. I'm obsessed with the different Mountain Dew flavors. Code Red is my favorite.

006. I don't really like superhero comics. Unless it's Batman or Spiderman. I'm more of a Sandman gal, I guess.

007. I love the hurdy gurdy! Coolest instrument ever invented. I want one but they're pretty expensive.

008. I'm a natural pessimist.

009. I am scared to death of aliens, especially the stereotypical grey alien. If we ever get invaded I'll probably just die of a heart attack.

010. I am also scared of spiders, clowns, spiderclowns, and plenty of other stupid things.

011. My favorite color is purple.

012. Cats are my favorite animal. My cat Oscar is like my CHILD.

013. The first anime I remember watching was Ronin Warriors.

014. The week I was likely concieved, Ghostbusters was the number one movie at the box office in the US.

015. My favorite actors are Tom Cruise & Keanu Reeves and my favorite actresses are Winona Ryder & Drew Barrymore.

016. My favorite horror movies are Hellraiser and The Wicker Man (The original, NOT the remake!).

017. I haven't had a car (or driven much, really) since 2009, but I'm hoping to get one soon.

018. I have related with Crows and Ravens my whole life. I love Corvids!

019. My favorite game ever is Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

020. I love game music remixes!

021. I didn't like spicy food until a few years ago, I just suddenly started eating it. The brain is a weird thing...

022. I went through a phase in my 20s when my food had to be really bland. All I wanted to eat was unsalted, unseasoned chicken breast.

023. is my least favorite number. Ever since I saw The Number 23 I see that number everywhere. IT HAUNTS ME.

024. My favorite song when I was four was Mr. Roboto by Styx. I wore out the cassette and drove my parents insane by playing it over and over in the car. It's still one of my favorites!

025. I have tried being Christian several times in my life, but I was just reaaaally bad at it. I finally accepted that my beliefs fall more in line with Paganism.

026. I own almost every Junji Ito manga that's been released in English.

027. I am obsessed with the paranormal and urban legends (especially Black-eyed Kids/Black-eyed People)

028. I love a good Creepypasta.

029. According to my DNA composition at 23andme.com, I am 75.2% German and 23% British/Irish. The rest is comprised of Finnish, Eastern European, Broadly Northwestern European and trace amounts of Native American/East Asian ancestry. I am very interested in my genetics and ancestry. I have a family tree on Ancestry.com that goes back almost 2000 years. Don't know exactly how accurate it is, though. I take those things with a grain of salt until it's proven fact. I would love to hire a professional geneaologist to sort through my family tree and find what's accurate and what isn't, and also shed some light on my dad's side of the family, which has been rather difficult to figure out.

030. I'm more scared of knives than I am of guns. I believe there's an evolutionary reason for that.

031. My favorite emoji is

032. My favorite type of horror are Cosmic Horror (a la Lovecraft) and Folk Horror (like The Wicker Man). I also enjoy "found footage" movies.

033. My favorite Disney Princess is Jasmine. I have a little shrine for her on one of my shelves.

034. I'm a procrastinator.

035. When I was a kid, I thought if I pulled the sheets up around my neck, vampires couldn't bite me. Now I kinda want one to bite me tbh

036. My first keyboard had a Wham! song pre-programmed into it which should tell you something about my age... FYI it was "Wake me Up before you Go Go". Can't stand that song.

037. If I were born male, my Mom said she would have named me Nicholas.

038. I really dislike most social media. The only thing Facebook is good for is cat videos. I think the reason is that it made me see my friends differently. I got to know EVERY SINGLE F*CKING THOUGHT THAT ENTERED THEIR MIND. Every single opinion on every single thing. Sometimes you just don't need to know that stuff. I actually started resenting some people for the things they said. I stopped using it for the most part, I just post a pic of Oscar once in a while to show I haven't croaked.

039.

040. When I was 11 I tried to breakdance at a school dance. You can probably guess how that went D: Hey, don't judge me it was the 90s.

041.

042. I collect Funko Pops, but am super picky about which ones I buy.

043. I like trash TV. Not even gonna lie about it. Jerry Springer, Maury, 90 Day Fiance etc. *does the 'you are NOT the father' dance*

044. I have a decent collection of How To Draw Manga and anatomy books because I still feel like I can't draw.

045. I actually used to be what I'd consider a good artist (2004 honestly was the last time I felt talented), but then I got depressed and lost my creative drive. Didn't draw for a long time and now I feel like I have to start from scratch. It's depressing because I feel like being an artist defines me, because it always HAS, my entire life...and I need to work to get my talent back because without it I feel like I'm nothing.

046. And it seems that no matter what I do, I still can't draw freakin' HANDS. It drives me bonkers.

047. Back in 2006-ish, my belongings lost all sentimental and nostalgic value to me, don't know why. A glitch in the brain I guess. I sold a butt ton of my old stuff on Ebay, including a little Yami no Matsuei artbook I got in NYC, which I deeply miss. I really regret doing that because I can never get those things that mean so much to me back.

048. For my 16th birthday, I got a trip to NYC. July of 2001. It was so cool! It was also a major culture shock. I was amazed with all the things there were to do, and the bagels and pizza were fantastic. I saw Rocky Horror on Broadway, which was absolutely insane. I loved NYC.

049. My favorite word is "sonorous" but I never get a chance to use it :( My second favorite word is "dongle".

050. I saw a ghost or spirit or something when I was 14. He was standing in the middle of the road in the rain and cars were whizzing past like they didn't see him. He was dressed in black, like a post-apocalyptic cowboy. He had a long black coat and big wide-brimmed black hat. Looked right at me. I know it sounds weird and goofy but it happened. My grandpa, who was driving, was inches away from the guy and didn't see him. Aaaand now y'all think I'm nuts. :D

051. I'm not photogenic at all. I look like a f*cking goblin in most photos.

052. When I was a kid I thought that Arkansas and Arkansaw were two different states. >_>

053. I'm a Pagan that loves Christmas. I love the holiday season in general. I love the smells associated with it and the warm coziness of everything.

054. I love Giant Robots, like a lot. Gundam is my fav franchise.

055. I have a 12 year old cactus named Euclid. I had another, Bob, but Bob got the fungus and died. Euclid also got the fungus but I cut it off in time. He is now the height of a small child and resides in my mom's kitchen.

056.

057.

058. My favorite Science Fiction author is H.G. Wells. He was well ahead of his time. I am very partial to The Time Machine.

059. My favorite Horror author is H.P. Lovecraft. He introduced a new kind of mind-bending cosmic f*ckery into the horror genre.

060. I love Horror manga and if anyone has recs for a good one, I'm all ears!

061. I still use Winamp because I hate change.

062. I have a filthy mouth, but I try to tamp it down for this site. You should hear me when I'm alone, stub my toe, drop something, etc

063. I love trying foreign candy and snacks. That started in middle school when my friend, who's from Hong Kong, gave me some candies from a Chinese brand called "White Rabbit". Lately I've been getting German snacks from Aldi, Japanese from the grocery store, and (mostly) Mexican snacks from the Hispanic stores around here (my town has a very large Hispanic community so there are lots of stores with tasty snacks and drinks).

064. When I was 14/15, I pierced my nose twice, my earlobes twice, and my cartilage once, with a needle. I also dyed my hair with kool aid. My mom had a rough time.

065. I am currently trying to learn Blender 3D. I'm currently doing the famous donut tutorial and it is effing KILLING ME.

066. I have a decent record collection, mostly of kinda harder to find 80s stuff.

067. I loathe clickbait-y Buzzfeed-esque headlines. They make me irrationally angry.

068. My absolute dream is to live in a city, one that's close to the ocean. I want a cool minimalist apartment with a vaporwave/outrun vibe, and a big window with an awesome view of the city. Ideally I'd be doing art (3D and animating) for a living and makin' lots of money. I'd have friends that don't act like total jagoffs and they'd actually talk to me! It'll probably never happen, but...

069. Generally I dislike people, but love Humanity. Does that even make sense?

070. When I'm trying to go to sleep, instead of counting sheep, my brain makes up new (and weird) levels of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Seriously. Just endless jumping and running until I fall asleep. It's actually very calming. Strange, but calming.

071. I really, really love chicken tendies

072. I suffer from Body Dysmorphic Disorder. I focus on my eyes...I really hate how they're shaped and I think they are too small. I have thought of consulting a plastic surgeon about this.

073. I had an eating disorder starting at age 14. I still suffer from it but not nearly as bad.

074. I'm a compulsive buyer. O_O

075. My favorite consoles are the Sega Genesis, The Sega Dreamcast, and the PS2. As for the Playstation, I feel like PS2 era was a "golden age" of games, I think a lot of the truly great ones came out during that time.

076. I also recently found a Sega Genesis Mini at Walmart. Holy crap I had no idea it existed! I was so excited to start looking for old cartridges! I have about 4 so far that I played as a kid (Earthworm Jim, The Lion King, Aladdin, Jurassic Park). The Genesis and it's games kept me sane during bad times. I'd come home from an awful day (every day lol) at school and jump right into gaming. It was my only respite, really. Until the sh*thead neighbor kid broke it >_>'

077. One time, when I was 14 or 15, I had a fever and was lying on the couch wrapped in a blanket. I think MTV was on and there was something about The Grinch (the Jim Carrey version, so this was around 2000 I guess) on, and I was so out of it from the fever, I started thinking I was literally the Grinch. I was totally delusional. The fever broke and I was left wondering what the heck just happened O_o

078. No one ever expects this, but I like clean-cut guys. Brown/black hair, brown/green/hazel eyes, taller than me (not exactly difficult, I'm 5'2'' lol). Good sense of humor, kind, nice smile, decently physically strong. That's just what I find most attractive. That's not like some absolute must have list, but that is my ideal. I think everyone has an ideal partner in their mind, to some extent.

080. I am deeply emotionally affected by music. For example, one day I was listening to a lot of Joy Division and I adore that music but I have to watch out because it takes me to a very dark place sometimes. A sudden thought of "maybe I should just hang myself" popped into my head. Holy crap. I turned on some techno and went back to normal pretty fast.

081. I'm terrified of spiders, but not tarantulas.

082. My favorite bands are, in no particular order, Nine Inch Nails, The Offspring, Disturbed, Air, Cradle of Filth, MALICE MIZER, Iron Maiden, My Dying Bride, Skinny Puppy, The Sisters of Mercy, London After Midnight, Three Doors Down, Gorillaz, Linkin Park, Korn, Two-Mix, Foreigner, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Judas Priest, Death in June, Der Blutharsch, Derniere Volonte, and Savage Garden. My favorite female singers are Megumi Hayashibara, Masami Okui, Britney Spears & Minami Takayama and my favorite male singers are Gackt, Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford & Bruce Dickinson.

083. I hold really bad grudges, my friends call them "hell grudges". One time I applied for a job at a BBQ joint, I was probably 17 at the time. My mom came along for emotional support because I have high anxiety and had never had nor applied for a job before. I went in and turned in my application and the manager just said "I can't hire you because your momma brought you." Well, friends, I haven't eaten at that place in nearly 20 years. And I love BBQ. That's a facking grudge.

084. I don't believe in collective guilt, collective punishment, or that the sins of the father are passed to the son. That is harmful, harmful thinking, and it's also just wrong.

085. I am very interested in "ripperology", the history and study of Jack the Ripper. I have been fascinated by this since my dad brought home a book on crime and serial killers when I was about eight. I probably read the entire book well over 100 times. I still have it, it's in tatters.

086. Reading Poe as a kid made me develop a fear of being buried alive. It still bothers me, and that is why I decided I want to be cremated instead of buried.

087. I was chased up a tree by a poodle. More than once. That little sh*t...

088. When I was really young, my slightly older cousin told me how babies are born. She said they came out of the belly button as a pool of liquid and gradually "hardened" into a baby. I believed this for a long time o.o;

089. I was in the Unicycle Club at my middle school.

090. I may listen to all kinds of music but I'm definitely an alt rock/metalhead at heart.

091. I once had my mind read by a friend who claimed to have psychic abilities. He told me to picture something in my mind, and to my complete surprise, he told me what I pictured. It's definitely one of the weirder things that has happened to me. Kinda blew my mind.

092. When I was really young, my parents bought a robie robot toy at Radio Shack. I thought it was pretty cool at first, until it started rolling my direction. I shrieked and clawed my way up the kitchen counter. I was afraid it would run over my toes. That's why I was also scared of vacuum cleaners. I've always been weird about my feet o_o

093. When I was about nine, I told my mom I was seeing demons. She totally flipped out and who could blame her? Indeed, when I shut my eyes, I saw a parade of demons. I don't know how else to explain it, but it scared the crap out of me as well. Things like that happened to me as a kid. I had kind of a turbulent childhood and probably should have gotten more professional help than I did. I just didn't feel secure enough to tell anyone most of the stuff that was happening.

094. I want Sandstorm played at my funeral. And maybe some strobe lights and a bouncy castle.

095. There was this skating rink I used to go to as a kid. The only song they played was Whoomp! There it is over... and over... and over. Now, if I tried to skate I'd probably fall on my ass. But that was it... skating in circles to Whoomp! There it is for hours. Good times.

096. I have a small mouth. It is actually no wider than my nose unless I smile really wide. It also won't open as wide as most peoples. I sometimes have difficulty eating certain foods or using bigger spoons. It's really weird and I have no clue where I inherited it from.

O97. I dont like mirrors. When I was six or seven a classmate told me the legend of bloody mary. I was so freaked out because I was expecting to see that b1tch pop up in the mirrors in my house at anytime. Now I'm in my thirties and I wont have mirrors in my home in any place other than the bathroom. They just make me uncomfortable.

098. In TV shows, my favorite characters always seem to be the severely morally-compromised antiheroes. For example; Dexter Morgan (Dexter), Walter White (Breaking Bad), and Raymond Reddington (The Blacklist). I'll be watching a show and shout "OMG WHY'D YOU DO THAT, ARE YOU STUPID?" and in the same breath "I love this jerk!".

099. One of my friends nearly killed me with a baby corn when we were 14. I'm just going to leave it at that to keep an air of mystery XD
